Giles: I jump out of the circle, jump back in, and, and, shake my gourd. Buffy: Hey, I think I know this ritual. The ancient shamans were next called upon to do the Hokey-Pokey and to turn themselves around.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I bought some green tomatoes at a farm stand a few weeks ago, and I meant to make fried green tomatoes with them, but I didn't get around to it, and now I have orange tomatoes.

I have cancelled plans to go to the Eastern European cafe tonight, as traveling to Memphis tomorrow instead involves much better odds of dessert being a cute bisexual pilot. I may wander outside and sample the local BBQ fest instead.

Breeders' Cup: They're leading the runners for the Classic out to be saddled and Zenyatta is already doing her dance. In the Turf: Champ Pegasus tried to win from the front and ran gamely, but Dangerous Midge passed him to win. (Dangerous Midge is one of the European horses ridden by Frankie Dettori - Champ Pegasus is a son of Fusaichi Pegasus ridden by Joel Rosario.)

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Man, the Breeder's Cup is pandemonium.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My parents are now on the hunt for a hotel for over Christmas break. So that's something almost accomplished. I'm trying to draw, but have reached that blank period where I just stare at the not-even-half-done picture with the conviction that anything I do will mess it up.

And I'm realising I should have bought two .3mm mechanical pencils this morning, so I can have one loaded with soft graphite and one with hard all the time, instead of swapping out.

I also need to comb through my (mess of an) apartment to find my ID pass for work and the teensy tiny cap for the teensy tiny flash drive I just bought. Fuckers could be anywhere.

But mostly I want to sleep, and can't.

Isn't?

Man, excellent Classic. A heart stopper for sure. 1 thin head breaks that amazing streak.

Man, Mike Smith says he's a little devastated - and he seems it. (BTW, I love the one name horses - particularly the one syllable names like Blame, Arch, Pluck - it amazes me that people can still find good ones.)

Breeder's Cup:

Man, she was so far back I thought something was wrong with her. That was kind of stressful, and a shame that she lost.

Breeder's Cup: But that is her style. But I guess she was just a little too far back. Was the Chris McCarron giving Mike Smith a hug?
