There were about a dozen local council seats that were running unopposed, so I didn't bother. I should have found names to write in, but the futility is depressing. I did go through our Voter Information booklet and figure out the judges based on the ratings, and actually found two to vote against. Doubt it will actually throw out anyone--Utah is big on automatically "sustaining the leadership"--but perhaps the judges will check their numbers tomorrow and go "Oh, gosh, people actually voted to throw me out, perhaps some rethinking is in order." Or they'll just assume that a bunch of people will always vote against incumbents.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, nail polish, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I feel slightly guilty for skipping the judges, but I didn't have time to research 82 (no joke) judges.
I also skipped the judges, who took up a whole page. I don't vote blindly.
Yeah, there were a few judges I found endorsements for/against, but I'm going to skip all the rest.
I skip the votes I don't know anything about either, which usually includes all the judges. Some of these, like county recorder of deeds, I'd like to just be jobs, not elected positions. I figure there are probably about ten people in the county who really care who gets elected.
And aurelia, are you in Calif?

Two years ago I actually did the research on the judges. There was just no time this year.
I'm glad I voted by mail, because things got...awfully peristaltic up in here yesterday and I'm still feeling a bit off.
I skipped most of the judges.
and I usually vote school board based on the teachers/administrators I know that are supporting them
Happy days. Our 19 year old furnace just died. 1,042 dollars to repair, and they warned of under parts in bad shape. So instead of repair, I guess fucking new furnace which is an expense we don't need right now.
I just voted yes on all the judges because I have no idea and I don't really get that process . I figured out my opinions on all the actual offices and propositions, though. Just got home from voting, in fact. Oh, I didn't get a sticker. Rats!
Congrats, Theo!
I voted absentee about a week ago. Spent this morning arguing online with an intelligent but callow guy about why his vote matters. Put me in a bad mood, that did.
I'm lucky that my dad is an attorney and often up-to-date on the judge matters. Otherwise I rely on information in candidate statements or I leave it blank.
Typo Boy, I'm sorry to hear about the homeowner headaches. Bad timing sucks.
I wonder about two portable space heaters. One for upstairs, one for down, move around as needed.
