Well some friends of Buffy played a funny joke and they took her stuff and now she wants us to help get it back from her friends who sleep all day and have no tans.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

IO9 talks about the nuclear plant damage. For once, on a testy issue, I like most of the comments. There's a lot of info-dumping going on there.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I was supposed to go to a new local SF con today (Fogcon, for the locals), in SF. Except I woke up with a cold that hit me really fast, between 11PM when I went to bed and 4:30AM when I woke up unable to breathe.

So now I don't know if it's worth hiking into the city for just a couple of panels. I don't want to be Patient Zero for the Fogcon Con Crud, you know?

Right now I am on the futon with two dogs next to me, and a pot of darjeeling steeping.

Thank goodness for Aleve Sinus & Cold, though: nothing but sudafed really does it for me anymore.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I don't care how unhealthy McDonald's oatmeal is. It's hella tasty.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I mean, seriously, we are speaking in comic book language here.

Ha! Also way too true. The earth's axis has shifted? I mean, I guess it makes sense that it would wiggle around a bit every once in a while. Doesn't it do a 180 and flip every few million years? Or was that a line of hog hooey I was once fed?

I am finding all these natural disasters kind of overwhelming and impossible to comprehend. Even knowing about the flooding in Australia and Pakistan, I couldn't really process what it would mean, especially in terms of long term recovery. And I'm feeling the same way now with the earthquake and tsunami.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I wish SO MUCH that none of us had such overwhelming stresses.

I just want to say this, again. You poor guys. I believe that everyone will get through everything. I know it's so much, for so many of you, and I'm sorry.

hip deep in pie

What Jesse said.

I'm sorting through my papers and bills so I can do my taxes. Thrilling. But my massage therapist called and has a cancellation, so I get a massage in two hours. So that's a win.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

The earth's axis has shifted? I mean, I guess it makes sense that it would wiggle around a bit every once in a while. Doesn't it do a 180 and flip every few million years? Or was that a line of hog hooey I was once fed?

The magnetic poles swap position every few million years. The earth's axis also shifted a couple inches after the tsunami in Indonesia in... 2004? It changes the length of the day by point-something seconds.

Our wings are not tired.

It changes the length of the day by point-something seconds.

I hope for an extra something as I still have time in the day issues.

Once again I am grateful for the source of real and understandable information I find here. Why do I even turn on the cable news channels?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Nope, sorry, slightly shorter day.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I just want to say this, again. You poor guys. I believe that everyone will get through everything. I know it's so much, for so many of you, and I'm sorry.

Yes, this.

In completely different news, I wish the cat sitter would get in touch about this weekend. I know they won't starve or dehydrate even if she doesn't show up, because it's only 36 hours, but still.
