Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Tonight I made bean burritos for dinner. I'm pretty sure that counts as preparing dinner, but it doesn't actually rise to the level of cooking.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Were utensils used? I mean, did you chop stuff up? If so, it totally counts.

Oo, that's a good question, Vortex. Did I use any utensils? Oh yeah, I did! I made guacamole, so there's a knife and a spoon right there. And another spoon for stirring the beans.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Emmett protecting his lemon tree is great.

I made meatloaf today. Didn't chop anything as it was one of my semi-prepared dinners in the freezer, but I did get all innovative and baked it in a muffin tin instead of a loaf pan, and "frosted" the results with mashed potatoes.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Ugh. We had a slug.

By the back door area near the lemon tree.

Slug be gone!

Our wings are not tired.

I'm roasting mushrooms, eggplant, and garlic for a veggie lasagna that I'm taking to my mom's this weekend. Third layer will be frozen spinach sauteed with the garlic that I roasted tonight as well. I'll make and bake them on Saturday and just reheat them on Sunday.

Oh that sounds terrific.

I also love the image of Emmett and his lemon tree!

I also love the image of Emmett and his lemon tree!

Mostly I just look forward to the day when I get bags of lemons from both javachik and Emmett.
