Everything looks good from here... Yes. Yes, this is a fertile land, and we will thrive. We will rule over all this land, and we will call it... 'This Land.' I think we should call it 'your grave!' Ah, curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal! Ha ha HA! Mine is an evil laugh! Now die! Oh, no, God! Oh, dear God in heaven!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Why did I answer the phone in French when the French guy called? God, that could have been embarrassing.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Really, I would like to go outside for a smoke with you.

Great idea!

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I just may have to turn in my Buffista card. I couldn't make it through a quarter of LOTR, the book, and I haven't seen any of the movies. I do not get the love, but I do not begrudge others their joy. Don't kill me, please?

I'm with you, I don't like them either.

Because books.

I never read the books, but I loved the movies. Which surprised me, really.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I had to slog through the books to finish, but I did like the movies.

I've read The Hobbit a few times, though. That one I enjoyed.

The books don't exactly zip along.

brillig

t weeps over the benighted non-Tolkien lovers. Realizes that just leaves more for her. Stops weeping and prices another set of the Trilogy for lo, her copy has worn out.

Punishingly Intricate

I read the Hobbit and, while it was an entertaining story, the writing was pretty bad in my opinion. I couldn't get past the first chapter of the first LOTR books. I loved the movies though!
