I think the tag is a law around here. Of course, our leg worked overtime to get people the right to blow their fingers off with firecrackers(and they hate the thought that the government might pay to have the fingers reattached, so it's hardly a council of wise elders or anything.

Meeting with the VP went fine, as we all knew it would.
Hey, check out the cool pic of our friend Andy at work on "The Green Hornet" [link]
He and his wife Heather are the people we go to the movies with just about every week, and have done so for the last decade. Just wonderful friends and people.
I've chipped Nathaniel. I live in a neighborhood where pets get dumped. Most strays get scanned around here -- there are so many. and I'm amazed at the number that don't have chips. It isn't that costly and that was the least disturbing part of what happened to Nathaniel that day ( he was sticked , chipped and clipped )
In the case of dogs, they are sort of single minded and they can get distracted
Twice was once too many.
Our old vets' office made it a practice to scan new patients. They didn't bother, of course, with pets they'd seen before, but in case someone had taken in a stray or lost pet, they just scanned on the first visit. There was some pet stealing in town, some of it for bait animals, but some of it was not wanting to pay for a purebred pet.
Honestly, while that's sick, I think it's better than people who buy or adopt a dog--or have a puppy foisted on them--buy a 10'x10' chainlink pen and a fiberglass igloo, stick the dog in it and go out once a day to pour dry food in the bowl and fill up the water dish. Dog doing life for the owner's crime of ignorance.
Happy birthday, shrift!
he thinks she's cuter that way
He's not really a pet person. I'm not sure what he's looking for out of an animal, but it doesn't really seem practical.
