Kaylee: So how many fell madly in love with you and wanted to take you away from all this? Inara: Just the one. I think I'm slipping.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

We took our houseguest out to Red Rocks Canyon with our doggies and tromped around. It was beautiful (although cold and wicked windy) and the pups LOVED being off-leash. Now I am back in the office (I had to come in for a call even though I am taking PTO today) but have now done my task and then no more work until NEXT YEAR!

Tomorrow, we are going to our fave tiki steakhouse for dinner, then to movie (My second viewing of The King's Speech--YES!). We'll have champagne and strawberries when we get home.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Glad your SO is staying put safely, Liese.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

That sounds super great, Scrappy. I wish the Biscuit were trained well enough to be able to go off leash sometimes. He did great at camp because the trails were narrow enough there was really only one direction he could go, and I could keep him near me. But out here, everything is so open he'd just take off. And come back, hours later, but that doesn't fly anymore, desert dog.

Anyway, I just had a nice cup of cocoa made from the mix my neighbor gave me for Christmas, and the Biscuit and I watched a long session of Dog TV, otherwise known as my birdfeeder. It was not exactly the day I planned, but that's ok.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I have 3, possibly 5 houseguests, for NYE. The 2 possibles are kids, which would be great for M, but slightly scary for my possible NYD hangover. OTOH, all of the possible houseguests are drama-free, and H&L and kids are happy camping in caves, much less on my ratty futon and bunk bed.

Anyway, all the kid(s) will be relegated to upstairs after 10 with plenty of food and movies; they can stay up til midnight (if they make it) and I will leave the laptop and netlix in M's room with an admonishment to gather in there to watch cartoons till grownups in the living room wake up.

Hmm. Ok.

I like Duvel more than what's good for me. It just might be the perfect ethanol delivery medium...

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Argh! Just getting in from a LOVELY birthday dinner with my parents, I learned why my cat sometimes randomly meows toward the fridge and thereabouts -- a mouse running from under the fridge to under the stove! BOOO.

Ahrg, just spent the last hour moving and fucking up and then restoring my iTunes library and now I'm on to setting up my iTouch.

I hate administering computers.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Boo to Birthday Mice!

I went upstairs to take a hot bath and Liv picked up my iTouch. It took her less than five minutes to figure out how to stream Netflix on it. She's now sitting here watching Fred the Movie. I give up.

Now I have to decide if I should Do Anything about the mouse situation. For now I'm going to ignore and hope for the best.

Jesse, not to alarm you or anything, but "mouse" is probably "mice." That thing is probably pregnant and building a condo under your fridge.
