Burrell, hope they figure out what's going on with your MIL quickly and she's out of the hospital and much, much better very soon.
We've been sleeping under just a down comforter in a flannel duvet cover recently (no top sheet) and it's been perfect when we get into bed and then too warm by the middle of the night. I blame the cats.
Early bird passes for Rollercon are $119 until Saturday. I'm debating buying one.
Ooh, I like that comforter cover a lot! It's flannel?
It is, and quite snuggly, though not as much as the flannel sheets. Mom bought me non-flannel but very soft sheets to go with it, and I think that's going to be a good combo. (I still have to wash the sheets, so for now I have other flannels on there.)
Do it, Cashmere. You can represent all of Buffista nation!
It would be really irresponsible for me to consider attending one of those pricey Creation Cons in the fall just because Kavan Smith will be there when dental bills are beating me into submission (with more to come), right?
MiL~ma, Burrell. I hope she gets better quickly.
Love that comforter cover! Dita will adjust, I'm sure.
Oh Burrell! Get well wishes to your MIL and resilience to you!
Mmm. JZ, good on you for telling the teacher; there was a kid harassing M this summer at day camp, and I made it a point to walk up to him one day and say "So. You're ---------. I've heard about you. I'm M's stepmom. (Beat of about 10 second where I gave him the Ninja Gaze, which is a pleasant half smile and dead eyes.) I'll be keeping my eye on you. Make good choices."
Then I kinda of walked off and there wasn't a problem anymore. If M had been older, maybe I wouldn't have done it that way, but I remember how awful kids can be, and M isn't a proactive kid (although I'm trying to change that.) And this kid had half-drowned him in a "dunking game."
Yeah, I remember those, you little punk. Real fun.
Last day in austin, I am ready to be home. I think I will try to get out and possibly do some shopping.

Oh heck yeah! Even as just a derby adjacent person it was a total blast.
