Yeah, but you're an amateur fry cook and I come from a long line of fry cooks that don't live past 25.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Fuck them both. I really want to shove both their heads into a toilet right now.

Start with their parents. That's probably where it's coming from.

I'm sorry Matilda's going through that. And can totally see why you'd be infuriated.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Spidra (and, on a completely other topic, thanks for the coffeemaker shopping tips; will research and follow up), I've met one kid's parents and they seem totally nice and pleasant (and whenever they're outside the school and she sees me, she bounces and squees, "Matilda's mommy!" so I'm pretty sure it is all one kid's instigation). The other kid, the queen bee -- never met her parents, have no idea. But, if Rachel Simmons's Odd Girl Out is anything to go by, it's just as likely that they have no idea of the shit she pulls and they'd be aghast.

Sigh. Why can't I just crack their heads? They're kids! Aren't they all resilient and quick-healing and shit?

Our wings are not tired.

Thanks, JZ. I am living proof that sometimes parents have absolutely nothing to do with how bad or good the kid's behavior is.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

JZ, I'm sorry Matilda is having to deal with that.

Try not to glue your skin. Yes, it does come off, but it hurts like a mofo.

Tommyrot and bonny, you do know the trick of keeping a cup of ice water ready to hand, so that you can dip hot-glue-covered skin into the cold water before peeling the glue off, right?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

My parents got me this comforter cover for Christmas [link] which just got put on the bed for the first time today.

Dita is afraid of it.

Separately, I hope they can figure out what is going on with your MIL quickly, Burrell and resolve it even more quickly.

I am bundled up in many layers (tights, leggings, AND jeans!) in prep for the 17 degree Vienna weather today. Waitin for brother to come downstairs.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ooh, I like that comforter cover a lot! It's flannel? I think that might me one too many flannels for me to actually make it out of bed -- it's hard enough with flannel pjs and sheets.

Good luck to your MIL, Burrell.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Sorry to hear about the MIL -- here's some healing-ma that was useful for my Mom two years ago....

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.
