I don't know, now that I've had my brother's home brew, I'm not sure I can drink anything else.

I don't know if anything is still open out there. But I believe one of the local brew pubs--we have several!--might have an outlet at the airport. I hear the Polygamy Porter is good. (Yes, Polygamy Porter, the label is a bearded man surrounded by several women.)

I was having omg must turn off the tv time, because I have in fact laid around watching tv all day. I did eat actual non-rice food today, and I no longer sound like a strangled cat when I talk, so hopefully I`m on the mend. The SO & I timed ours helpfully off each other. And of course no kids.
 
Speaking of cats, I really had no idea of what any of Breakfast at Tiffany`s was about as a kid. I didn`t know what "She`s my" significant pause "decorator" meant and the rest of the movie continuead apace. I also was aware of the atrocious Mickey Rooney yellowface but just sort of embarrassed for him about it. I didn`t really pull any greater societal meaning off it. Anyway, so I still love that movie, it turns out. I especially loved the actual Tiffany`s bits as a kid, the serious jeweler helping them buy something for ten dollars, the engraved crackerjack ring. Love.
 
And the cat redemption scene at the end, something that Duck on Mad Men never got and therefore is irredeemable to me.
 
Huh. Cold medicine me is rambly and verbose. I shall go to sleep now. I think it advisable.

We watched the end of Breakfast at Tiffany's here too. And now on to another Blake Edwards movie the first Pink Panther.

Which I don't know that as many people have seen. I certainly came to know Clouseau from the seventies come back films, so when I first saw the original movie I was surprised to find that Clouseau was a supporting character.

Also, that it's a super swank, rather Mad Men era movie. Land of a Thousand Updos.

And while Claudia Cardinale is very beautiful, there are very few women who ever lived who can compare to Capucine.

Plus, you know, David Niven and young Robert Wagner.

I'm in the Detroit airport, with a confirmed flight (but no seat yet, to keep things exciting) to go home. My sister got up at 3:30 am to get me here in a timely manner, so I plan to see if I can rentroduce sainthood into the Methodist church with Sis as the first candidate.

So, I was the only person on my shuttle today (aside from the driver!). Usually it's 6-10 people. About half of my department is supposed to be here today, so we'll see who actually shows. A couple of people were supposedly flying back yesterday, which who knows if that happened.

One other person in my group just arrived. My boss attempted to come into work, but then gave up and went back home.

Bleh, have had a rather unpleasant and gnarly night. Tom was about 2 hours ahead of me with symptoms, so when he'd get sick I'd just wait there in dread for my turn.

Have no miso or ginger ale. Have cat food and water and one packet of ramen. And bread for toast, if it hasn't gone moldy.

This is the first time I've ever thrown up in New Orleans, and it wasn't even doing something fun!
