"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

The greatest cartoon thing looks fun. But alas, not with my kids.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Holy shiznit, leftover prime rib makes the best steak and eggs ever.

My mouth is so happy.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Xmas movie day was a big success. After breakfast at our favorite diner with 10 of us, we saw Tron, True Grit, Black Swan and ended with Love & Other Drugs then a late dinner at Jerry's Deli. A very convivial day and True Grit was WONDERFUL.

The depth of my hate for Black Swan and the passion with which I expounded on it was amusing to all.

Now I am at work, which is less fun, I have to say.

Calli, I'm in the same situation as you. Flight finally got cancelled, I'm not flying back until Tuesday afternoon now.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yikes. I am once again happy not to be travelling for holidays! I found The Sing-Off On Demand, so have been watching that. I think I'll still run by Lord & Taylor and the grocery store.

I'm hoping for a snow day tomorrow!!

Happy Day to the Birthday Buffistas!

All the highly anticipated snow in DC? Zippo.

Now to rise from the computer and make the chicken chili I've been planning for days.

AND, another loaf the the most awesome Gluten-free Banana Bread. I've been making it over the last week or so. This will be my 5th edition. I never liked banana bread, per se, but used up some old bananas with rice flour, pecans and candied ginger. Oh my, NOM it is tasty.

Seconding the YAY on both counts.

This blog is a good resource:

Yay, things to point out to Hubby! He just can't believe there are cost-effective ways to have cellphones. The minutes expiring shouldn't be too much a problem, as I don't intend to use it much and so will only buy small amounts.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

We went for a long walk around the lake in the snow. Tried to take Frankie but he started limping, so no long walk for him. I think he might have an old injury or something.

I don't know if I should try and go home today - if I don't I'll probably be stuck until Tuesday.

It's not that much of a hardship. I mean, I wanted to get home tonight just to be in my own bed, see the kitties, swim and have a fake weekend to get stuff done. But as it is, I get an extra day and a half here, where I can't do any chores that I actually mind (doing other peoples' laundry and dishes don't count) and I get to play with the nephews and hang out with my brother and SIL. So painful, you know?

Oops, so I lose a day of work, but that can't be helped.
