Angel: You know, I killed my actual dad. It was one of the first things I did when I became a vampire. Wesley: I hardly see how that's the same situation. Angel: Yeah. I didn't really think that one through.

Traditional Jewish Christmas. Only this year our little hick town actually had an open Chinese Xmas, so we actually went out instead of eating takeout bought yesterday. Olympia is starting to grow up. snif. snif.

Also I agree with the conventional wisdom that "True Grit" is a first rate movie.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

We did Jewish Christmas kind of backwards. We had dim sum for lunch, then watched DVDs at home, and then had Italian food for dinner, from an Italian restaurant that was open for some reason.

Yeah, another bugaboo is I was planning on using Monday to grocery shop. Yeah, nsm, IF I make it home. Plenty of Indian tv dinners in the freezer, at least. Maybe I should rebook now, but...I'm willing to take the risk. Oops, I have to stay on vacation longer and I have the hours?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, if I were you, I would totally rebook now and save myself the hassle.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

CJ is at his dad's. Kelly and I went out to see Love and Other Drugs, then she took me out to sushi dinner. NOM!

Flights in the middle of the day are cancelled, but mine are still on (kinda makes sense, since the snow should have let up by then.) I don't mind the extra time here, really. Of all places to be stuck, with my brother, SIL and nephews? Yeah, no big. And since my catsitters are all local, it is for once something I don't worry about.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Happy Christmas!

I am down one laptop, apparently, and miserable about it.

Still, it's good to be home, even if I'm completely useless. Turned out we didn't go out for Christmas dinner, but my mother cooked up a storm (pictures at some point, once I work out which computer does what around here) and I am totally full. And will be forever.

Tomorrow morning we head out for the North Coast, to spend a few days at the beach.

Without my laptop...sniff. I had a neurotically codependent relationship with it. I hope it can be repaired, or resuscitates itself overnight magically.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

It's raining again. Hard. I hope all of the recycling we have is actually IN the bin so as not to get all bloated from water.

Christmas was good. We had a long skype chat with my mom and we ate ham and green beans. I feel all sated and fat. Or maybe just fat.

Thank god I went to yoga earlier.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

What booze should I use to spike my spiced apple cider?

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

I think rum would match well. Or brandy.
