Mal: Okay. She won't be winning any beauty contests anytime soon. But she is solid. Ship like this, be with ya 'til the day you die. Zoe: 'Cause it's a deathtrap.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Thanks to Matt, I'm now humming my favorite anthem to black out binge drinking.

Here's a digital version with her singing.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

What's up with the ACLU fundraising department? I had a little extra money this fall, so I cut them a check, and a month later they called me and got shirty when I refused to double it.

Ask them if they have kosher cheesecake.

Ann, that's a ferret.

If you can't write your own CV, perhaps you should return your PhD and STFU.

Having a PhD means you know a lot about something. It doesn't mean you have enough common sense to come in out of the rain.

What TB said about faxes. It's a convenient way to send a paper document and maybe even turn it into an electronic document. (I have my own work fax number. It sends the document to my e-mail.)

I'm also still a fan of CDs. Half the fun of buying CDs is finding a new favorite song that you didn't know existed. (Not to mention, you still have your music library if your computer crashes.)

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

they got word that one of their major, long term supporters was no longer going to be able to continue the multi-million dollar annual contributions due to the extreme tanking of the economy

Ah, ok. That makes sense. Not sure that pissing off their supporters is gonna solve the cash flow problem, but at least I know what's behind it now. Thanks, WindSparrow.

ETA:

Ask them if they have kosher cheesecake.

Oh, if only I hadn't already mailed my $35 membership back to them, I'd totally write this on the memo line.

If you can publish, you can write your own damn CV.

We cut these folks a ton of slack, but they have to pay their taxes, get their driver's license renewed, and learn to pump their gas. I will do a whole lot to help someone. I clear jammed printers and all that. But your CV is your own personal shit.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Christmas pagent rehearsal = ring of hell. I do not know how teachers do it.

My SIL directed her church pageant this year. It was so much better than I expected.

ION, I'll guess I'll be dark for the next few days as my sister decided to inform me last night that they would pick me up at the airport and drive straight to Vermont, land of no internet. Good thing I hadn't planned on shopping, resting after traveling, or, you know, communicating with anyone on the ground.

ETA: I don't think obsolete means what those people think it means.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Okay, I can check nurse cookies off the list. Now I just have to remember to take them with me Thursday night.
