I have full days through (and including) the 24th, and then am off until Jan. 4. Very strange. It is so dead here.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I have a day jam packed with meetings/stuff, including the team lunch for which I neither made anything nor donated money.

Office still smells like ass, so I'm just working from home. My boss will be pissed. But it smells so bad I don't see how normal people tolerate it. It's really nasty. The steering committee meeting will be just fine.

God, I'm nervous.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I have a meeting in 10 minutes that I expect next to no one to show up for, and those that do will not have anything productive to contribute.

I need to check my meeting invites and look into a promotion for a title coming out on 1/11, but after that I think I'm done.

hwæt

I was hoping to take some days off this week and next, because I have some vacation days available. Unfortunately, another coworker is taking this week off and next due to a family emergency (on top of the other people who scheduled time off), furthermore he dumped a big job on my lap that needs to get done in spite of the fact that we're in a change freeze.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Well, it looks like weather will allow us to travel to Iowa tomorrow (yay?) so I have to get a bunch of stuff done. I have to wait till D gets home to finish a bunch of the shopping, because he has the card (STILL waiting my my card to come in the mail, after I closed mine and we made his a joint checking. UGH.)

I need to: do laundry, pack, load a movie or shows onto iTunes for the trip, get smokes, go to Sears for my dad's Xmas present, go to the Plaza to get some presents, wrap presents, get something(s) to read...

Hmm. So I guess I'll do laundry, pack, wrap the presents I have and download stuff on iTunes.

Also, I'm getting nervous. I ordered some stuff from thinkgeek for D's Xmas present, and it's still not here, and we leave tomorrow morning.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I realized at the last minute that I had more vacation to use up than I thought, so today is my last day before maternity leave! (It's bending the HR rules to take vacation + company holidays and right before a long leave of absence, but my manager doesn't mind and HR doesn't seem to have noticed, so nobody tell, ok?)

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Crap, overslept. Still sick. Late for work. I think I'll drive: I don't have it in me to wait for the bus today.

If I didn't have a meeting with my managers, I would so take the day off. Bah.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Ugh, Tom. I've been there.

We technically have a full day tomorrow, but that never actually happens. I expect I'll be out by about 1, assuming the project I'm trying to wrap up doesn't go funky. Then I'm off until the 4th trying to use up the last of my PTO. I'll still have a couple of days that hopefully I can take in January, though technically it's use-or-lose.

I'm WFH today and don't have a ton to do, so I'm hoping to get some laundry and packing and stuff done.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Doesn't help that I slept squat diddly last night, and feel like hell.

They did a study somewhere that said you looked better if you slept more. Well, duh. Give me your grant money, and I'll let you use my mirror.

I need to start packing! And do laundry!
