Is the standard sofa in the rooms a pullout? If I had known that, I'd totally have tried to unfold it when I was admitted. Just for the... you know, something to do when I wasn't in the ICU. Or did they roll in something special?

I don't have a sofa. I have a chair. It has a pullout thing that goes about 2.5 feet but then there is still the chair. Am I missing something? I clearly hope so as I still will be sleeping here.
I just went to the nurse's station to ask for cool mist/aerosole for Grace. But I also need water to mix her food and to tell someone I'm feeding her. And linens for me. And help with the damn bed. If things were more obvious, I wouldn't bother folks. But things are NOT obvious.
That sounds like the chair beds at Hopkins. It's like it pulls out twice? I dont know how to explain it. But a nurse had to explain it to me first time I used it.
I'm just realising maybe I should buy something to take in for them on my last pre-Christmas visit. Maybe something from TJs?
I decided I wanted to do something like this for the people at the infusion center, so I walked through TJs and got a bunch of stuff that struck my eye, stuck them in two holiday gift bags and handed them over to my nurse of the day to be put the staff lounge. It seemed to go over really well--people were smiley about it.
Kat, glad Grace is doing well. I hope they get you settled and comfortable soon.
My sis-in-law (well, ex, but she kept me) was robbed tonight at the Wal-Mart in Topeka. The guy took her purse and an undisclosed amount of gifts. Since she is a substitute teacher/waitress by trade she saves up for the year for niece and nephew gifts and pays in cash. She is physically ok, but very pissed off. I feel horrible for her.
Oh no, Barney!!!
Oh! Poor SIL. That totally blows.
Yes, lisa, it pulls out, but like twice and then you have to lift up. The CNA came in and did it for me. Plus is going to get linens and a cup so I can give Grace her final dinner.
That sucks, slayeroshadow. I'm glad she wasn't hurt, but still.
That sounds like the exact same bed chair! I never could get it exactly right. But it was shockingly fairly comfortable.
I'm glad she wasn't hurt, but still.
Considering she's worked in sports bars her entire adult life she knows how to handle herself. There's nothing quite worse than feeling powerless. I realize it's a full moon, but robbing someone during Christmas week is just cruel.
