No studying? Damn! Next thing they'll tell me is I'll have to eat jelly doughnuts or sleep with a supermodel to get things done around here. I ask you, how much can one man give?

Because books.

I woke up both times freezing and confused and very disturbed that I couldn't see anything, since I didn't have my glasses. Anesthesia fucks with you.

Punishingly Intricate

There was a guy having surgery the same time Bob was having his first surgery and his wife said he always took a long time to be coherent after surgery and he came out of it super crazy every time. He went in after Bob and was done before Bob's surgery and he wasn't admitted to the floor until hours later (they didn't admit the patients to the floor until they were coherent and their oxygen levels were up and stable).

Bob was pretty coherent right away (more than I was at that point!) but in a lot of pain and pissed off about it. Pain was from being in the same position for something like 8 hours during the surgery. Also from the tube up his nose. Which one of the post surgical nurses said he'd get out "someday." She was the only staff person we encountered there who wasn't great.

Hubby can be very vicious when he's coming out of anesthesia. He has a very evil twin who I do not like at all.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My main post-anaesthesia problem was not knowing the time. And then falling asleep and needing the time again. And again.

Because books.

After my gall bladder surgery, no one told me I had a tube down my throat, and I was so out of it I didn't realize it. But I kept coughing and asking why my throat hurt. Blech.

I had enough issues with the IV across my wrist that they ended up strapping my hand to a board. Good times, good times.

I only remember one visit after having my appendix out. My mother brought pizza. I love her.

I wanted them to come back and get me, but they didn't, so I packed my shit up and left without my meds. It was ten years before I told my mother I was never discharged.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

After my surgery, I begged them to get rid of the catheter, which they did as soon as I was in my room. I didn't need it, anyway. I think I remember them taking out the breathing tube in the recovery room (ugh), but really don't recall anything else there.

My boss is letting me go home at 2:30--yay!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

After my surgery I felt like i needed to pee, but my friend who is a Dr. was there in recovery and he wouldn't leave for them and I was DAMN SURE not peeing in a bedpan with him around. According to him, I am sassy coming out of the anaesthesia.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Grace was actually extremely angry. And she is strong. the recovery staff wanted us to deal. She smacked/punched Katie so hard that there was an audible gasp among the staff. They tell us kids this age always do this.

She is okay. Admitted just to be observed. They did do the laryngotomy and dilation and it went well. The doc says they will probably do it a couple more times and then maybe the trache can come out..
