To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice, with pie.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

They are so gorgeous, Kat. Thank you so much.

I just now lost the eclipse to cloud cover. I got to see it past greatest totality, though, so I`m so happy. I had so much fun. What a great gift! And I`m glad he didn`t make me wait until Christmas! This way I can play with it all break. I can`t wait to get the camera attachment, this was a real crap shoot trying to get the phone lined up. But some came out really nicely, I thought. Whew. Now to bed. Concert & party tomorrow. House is looking pretty spiffy, though; we should be fine.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

All best thoughts to Grace and her family.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I am so glad you got to see the eclipse, Liese. And grateful you shared it with us. I had clouds. Not unexpectedly. But I got to live it through you vicariously so I feel happy.

Saw most of it, but it's cloudy here, too. Our local and pretty ubiqutous mirk. Still, it was neat, for watching without a scope. It's fun listening to Liese with her new telescope.

Swouncing

Skipping (sigh, again) because, according to Glamcookie "If the Apocalypse Comes, Beep Me" Dec 22, 2009 5:56:23 am PST today is Shane's first birthday.

Happy birthday, you big baby boy! With lots of wishes to Glamcookie, and all your family!

And because she deserves a post all for herself, lots of thoughts and health vibes to Gracie (and all of *her* family, of course, as well).

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Best to you, Gracie.

Happy birthday, Shane.

Tonight was a double Ambien night, and I'm up already. ::grump::

I think I'll try going into the office today. Break up the tedium.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Lots of ~ma to Grace and to her surgical team. She's taken such amazing giant strides since she's come home; may the outcome of this lead to another giant stride.

And happy actual birthday, Shanie! Matilda has noted that the first birthday is the most important, because before then you're just a baby who don't know cake. But now, by gum, you know cake!
