Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

OMG I don't put heavy cream in my eggnog. It's about the only dairy thing I don't put heavy cream in. But I'm looking at other people's recipes, and they all have cream in.

Do you guys use cream?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

According to this week's Economist, people are, on average, least happy at 46, and then they get happier over time.

I was happier at 46 than I've ever been in my life, and at 47 I am approaching actual happiness.

I went to World Market and BB&B this morning, spent $200, and bought more stuff for myself than Christmas presents. Granted, it was all stuff I needed or had meant to buy for a while (like a shredder). Thank goodness for Amazon Wishlists. I couldn't last-minute shop for, say, my BFF's daughters without help.

And, honestly, I can't believe I'm last-minute shopping. This wasn't the plan. After we got back from the last farm trip, my sister said, do you realize Christmas is just two weeks away? and I said, WHAT? Aigh! because I really hadn't.

Erin, your proposal story was cute! I love the fact that you were munching brocccoli and cheese at the time.

My niece used to work at a Michael's doing framing. We took horrible advantage of her. I can do it, I just don'wanna.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I cut my hair short in solidarity with a friend who was going through chemo and then discovered how much easier it made my grooming and can't bring myself to grow it back out.

Then I moved to CR where my only friends are my gay sister's circle of mostly gay women friends.

I'm sure that most people think I'm a lesbian and I don't really do anything to dispell the myth.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

DH is off being interviewed on some kind of car-related radio show. I was going to go to work, but had to walk the dogs first. It was raining so damn hard that I decided to wait until there was a break, which there was at 11 or so. After that, I thought the DH was going to be home by lunch so I waited to eat with him... til I got too hungry and made lunch. Now I've heard from him and he'll be back home in 90 minutes....have I gotten writing done? No. Have I measured the closets for reorganization? No. Have I done fuck-all except puttering around putting laundry away, doing dishes and playing games on FaceBook? No. Feh.

I will do what I can for the rest of the day.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

According to this week's Economist, people are, on average, least happy at 46, and then they get happier over time.

I was looking forward to 45 a lot, but now I'm pretty sure 46 is going to be a hell of a lot happier.

hip deep in pie

I am so pooped from my productive day that I don't really feel like going to the two parties I have to go to. But running around today was to free up my evening...

I went to the post office and mailed shit! Yay! (...of course, it was a madhouse, and I didn't realize until I hit the front of the line that I'd grabbed the wrong box, and it wasn't flat rate, but that only cost me about $5 extra).

I also today have: gotten waxed, gotten a pedicure, bought my dad's present, burned CDs for my BIL to go with his iTunes gift card, and gone to the library.

...now I kinda want to just sit around.

Art Crawl!!!

I have had a very lazy day. The only slightly productive thing I've done (and am still doing) is working on untangling the skein of sock yarn that I've been untangling since sometime Thursday night. I'm not sure that it's getting better.. . it may actually be worse.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh, yeah, I totally get mistaken for lesbian all the time, but that's not a particular surprise since I am pretty comfortable going for androgyny in my look. The best bit was at an Indigo Girls concert where not only did I look like half of a lesbian couple, but I looked like half of a lesbian couple where the other girl was the hottest girl in the place. That was an interesting friendship, I tell you what, and despite the fact that she really did fill the cliche of the blonde girl sleeping her way to the top of the company, she was a really intelligent, interesting person. But not gay, as she asserted at the concert. Hee.

I get mistaken for part of a couple at a lot of shows with a lot of different people over the years, because the SO doesn't really love concert-going and I do, so I go with all sorts of different people.

Anyway. What I came to post was: First attempt at wreath on flickr. It's kinda wonky, but looks reasonable from a distance. And laundry in and dishes in, so I'm doing pretty good. The Biscuit is here to inform me that the next task on my list is feeding him.
