Yeah, you know, I think that's the real thing. I don't believe in surprise engagements FOR ME. Of course there are a ton of people who want and love that kind of thing, and so they should have it! Because why do I care how other people arrange their lives, really?

Hec proposed to me more or less by email, by way of a transcript of a crucial IM conversation he'd just had with another Buffista. And then it took me three weeks to give him an answer.
Nora's proposal is really just about the best ever.
