Early: You folks are all insane. Simon: Well, my sister's a ship. We had a complicated childhood.

Punishingly Intricate

I have a Very large sweet potato (not a euphemism)

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Good stuff: I got a Xmas candy gift from a student, got three new books for next semester approved (I'm teaching The Poisonwood Bible! Which I love!) and just ate a French dip.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I made cock-a-leekie soup and it was so easy and came out pretty damn good.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I will be seeing my last for a long time, possibly ever, of Rage Nurse and Vengeance Doc.

Is Rage Nurse the really evil co-worker you have who says mean things to you? And if not, does your new position mean you won't have to deal with that mean co-worker?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Good stuff: The kids' holiday pageant was today and it was super cute, start to finish. And there was a holiday bazaar outside where I got to buy handmade soaps and a pretty wallet to give my MiL and other pretty items.

More good stuff: I got a yonk of nail polish to give to DH's cousins for Xmas and they are all so purty I want to keep them all, but will happily settle for the two I bought for myself. One's a holo. I haven't tried out a holo yet, so I am looking forward to it.

Less good: I think I have developed a polish addiction. Family members may be staging an intervention.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Less good: I think I have developed a polish addiction. Family members may be staging an intervention.

Well if you need talking points or tricks to hide your polish, let us know. We're here to help. You, I mean. Not those people who want to keep you from pretty nails.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My god, I hate our data centre. Dude, if you call me and ask me for permission to do...the next thing, you need to tell me what the next thing is. And then when I give you permission, the bit where you tell me I'm not authorised to give you permission? Is just stupid, and don't call me next time.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Yes, and yes.

I'm actually going to miss some of her astonishingly petty and mean spirited comments. They were bracing in their transparency and intent to wound.

No, wait! I won't miss that.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I have frozen waffles, a jar of Nutella, and pumpkin spice eggnog.

This way better than my department's Christmas party, which I'm skipping due to rehearsal tonight. They've gone bowling.

Woo for JZ escaping the evil ones!
