Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Good stuff: one of my students just emailed me to thank me and tell me I'm the best teacher she's ever had.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

You've got a husband! So does Kate P.!

But what about a root? Do they have a root?

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Good things: Today is my last day in the office until 12/28! My baby's birthday party is Saturday and he turns 1 on Tuesday. Baby slept until 6 this morning (usually up around 4-4:30).

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

This is a very good commercial for an anti-drunk-driving campaign: [link]

It's very intense at times. I think this was produced in Australia....

And what's with all the carrots?

Good stuff: I just put in my two weeks notice. The boss dropped the f-bomb and lots of "well, shit"s and told me he had just met with the company owner yesterday about me taking more of a V.P. role. I still declined because I am going to have kick-a benefits at the new job. I was told it will be very difficult to find someone to replace me.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

But what about a root? Do they have a root?

Oooh, good question. I'm going to the Chinese grocery. I could pick up a couple of roots very easily should there be a need.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

That is a super good thing, Hil. You hang on to that moment. Print it out and hang it somewhere you can see it.

My good stuff: 1) The SO went to the doc, was in and out in less than ten minutes, and has an antibiotic for his sinus infection, so should be feeling better soon. 2) The cute barista gave me three stamps on my coffee card even though I only had one small peppermint mocha. (He also asked if I lived nearby so I am unsure if he was hitting on me, was just nice, or recognized me from the stage (the owner of the shop goes to our church, so the kid might too but I didn`t recognize him)(Doubt it was flirting because I looked pretty grungy in my wood-hauling clothes!))

And best of all 3) I got the absolute best Christmas present ever!!1! It`s an Orion 6" Dobsonian telescope! It is huge; it`s bigger than me! But it is cloudy so I haven`t been able to use it yet, other than looking at the mountain crest to adjust it. The SO wins so many points for this one.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Very good thing: My 2010 project hit 110% of sales today, which is the highest bonus level, such as they are. So, if I manage to stay until the end of March I might finally get a bonus.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh, and then I had a dream where I talked to Sean about telescope stuff! Where is Seany? I need amateur stargazer advice! Sarameg! What resources should I look up? I am so excited!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Reading people's good stuff is always happy-making.

It's true!
