Reading people's good stuff is always happy-making.
Natter 67: Overriding Vetoes
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, nail polish, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Good stuff: I caught Young Frankenstein on cable earlier, and I just ate two Candy Cane Joe-Joes.
Good stuff: I got writing done last night, I came up with a story idea for a project I've tentatively been offered, and tonight I'm going out for drinks and nibbly food with two amazingly creative people I know.
I just ate two Candy Cane Joe-Joes.
I just ate six! Or so.
I just ate two HobNobs, which my niece gave me for my birthday.
Good thing: Last night I shot off a pitch letter to a local children's book blogger who also happens to be an incredibly busy speaker and kids' library advocate and activist and was on the Caldecott committee in '09, and less than two hours later he wrote me back asking for a review copy of Allyson's book.
Other good thing: The laid-off person whose job I'm being moved into just got her own new job, so I no longer have survivor's guilt. Subsidiary good thing to that good thing: they want her to start ASAP, so instead of me moving on January 10 I'm moving on January 3, which means that in six work days I will be seeing my last for a long time, possibly ever, of Rage Nurse and Vengeance Doc.
Good thing: MY husband is coming home from his business trip tonight!

WOO!!
Woo hoo! Less Rage Nurse and Vengeance Doc the better.
Your poor other co-worker. I hope she tells them off when she quits.
Good Things: Emmett studied very diligently for his Bio test today and felt like he did well. He also went to the meeting for high school baseball like I asked, when he kept insisting he just needed to pick up the form at the office. So, he did more than the Least Amount Necessary which is an important message we're trying to get across this year.
Also, Matilda's friend from her previous school, Sena, has started at her current school. And Matilda has been a big part in helping Sena to get settled in. Also, it gives Matilda a friend that bossy queen bee girl has no claim on.
Also, Emmett and I listened to my Wassail Up? xmas mix on the way up and were giggling over Snoop Dogg's very lewd but hilarious Night Before Christmas. (He's particularly funny when he's complaining about how a stoned Santa is eating up "all my muthfuckin' cookies.")
Also, when I picked Emmett up we ran into his godsister and invited her to come spend a couple days with us over break in the City. She's the younger of Emmett's godsisters (though older than Emmett), and I gave the elder sister a weekend in the City to show it off some years ago. These suburban kids only live fifteen minutes away but they rarely get into the City, and she's been interested in coming over.
So little stuff but good stuff.
Good thing: MY husband is coming home from his business trip tonight!
You've got a husband! So does Kate P.!
