I apologised sincerely, assuring them I hadn't intended to slip anything in through the back door. Signed off with "Roger and out". They complimented me on my courtesy.

Ow. Thank god I wasn't on the phone when I read that.

My big package of OBs from drugstore.com arrived today. Contemplating wrapping them for Christmas.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I often use "balls" as an expletive these days.

I am sitting through some computerized mandated training that I have to do before the end of the year. Which is funny: I wonder if the credit will roll over when I get rehired? Anyway, I aced the pre-training test, and then just took the post-training test and scored 94%. Because how hard is it to know that "bringing a gun to work" is a signifier for workplace violence?

Sheesh.

No OBs at the Ralphs near work, and no space for them either.

1 Walgreens here had none, and no shelf space. The other I checked had some (although obviously no Ultras, which I don't use but I thought it was interesting they were still marked on the shelf).

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I've ended up with an 8x10 rug that I don't want. What the frick do I do with this thing? It's draped over my office, I think I can roll it up but I'm not sure I can lift it.

Zen, you might call a women's or homeless shelter with a transitional living program and see if they need it. Sometimes, they will pick stuff up.

I have a pottymouth, and I have to train myself out of it. I say "Oh, bugger!" a lot, and am fairly confident I won't be caught out at work. Sometimes I throw in a "frickin'" and a nice "Merde!!"

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

CVS had a couple of lonely Regulars and empty spaces for the Super and variety packs.

I read elsewhere that when someone called the company they were told they've been having some sort of supplier issue.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Crap. Major x-mas fail on my part.

We're celebrating x-mas this weekend. I had a bunch of presents that were supposed to be delivered today, but I just discovered the ship-to address defaulted to my old home address. So I called Amazon and they're going to contact UPS and have it sent to my work address instead. But Amazon doesn't know if this will work or how long it'll take.

Tommy, it shouldn't be a problem for UPS as long as they actually have the packages in hand, then it's just a redelivery to a new address, if they have to retrieve them, then it may take longer.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

*snicker*

Tried looking for nice plus size evening dresses last night and didn't like what I was seeing. So although the house is almost too cluttered to find work space and my RSI is killing me like holy hell, I'm going to have to sew something.

I really need an LAista to help me pop my LA Garment District cherry. Ever since hearing that they have no prices and that it's all haggling, I've been terrified to go. But I have little doubt I'd find much better stuff there than at the Jo-Ann's in Alhambra. I walked there and settled for something polyester. I really prefer using natural fabrics but other than cotton and wool, Jo-Ann is light on natural fabrics. Got a 3mi walk in, though.

The cashier was sweet. I suspected the fabric I had wasn't coupon-eligible because it already had some small discount on it. I asked her if she thought my coupon would work. Instead she fished out some 20% mailer that had already been used and put the torn pieces back together to scan it for me. She volunteered that for me! Above and beyond.

I got a large red print "silk" to do the Folkwear Beach Pyjama pattern in. [link] I've made it before out of black silk crepe (real silk) but that was when I weighed 80lb less. My move was so harried that I was forced to give it away when I moved in July. Real silk, gorgeous outfit. Given away.
