Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

No working toilets sounds like time to go somewhere else!

megan, I've had water pouring through my bathroom light fixture with no actual problem, so good luck to you on that!

And my main takeaway from that Post piece is that I can't believe H Street NE has actually come back. When I lived there in the mid-90s, it was still basically burned out from 1968.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Well, it seems if I have to use a bathroom, I'm to talk to the head contractor guy and he'll check if I can use one of the upstairs toilets at that time.

I feel like I'm in grade-school when we had to ask permission to go to the bathroom.

The last good bathroom was rendered unusable when a worker cut the plastic pipe that carries the flushed toilet water to the sewer, causing water to spew all over the floor.

Seriously, how is that even possible?

No idea. But it's true! Insulated wiring, I guess.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I actually like this question: Are all languages equally lip-readable?

I would guess that a tonal language like Chinese is far harder.

Yeah, we water coming out the light fixture too, same as Jesse. We had to redo the ceiling of the bathroom, but all the wiring was fine.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, Navajo too has lots of stuff where you make the shape of one letter but aspirate or don`t aspirate and I have no idea how that difference would be lip readable at all.

I`m gonna go out on a limb and say that no toilets is a bad thing. That`s the one thing I liked about the falling down pink house, which was that when the plumbing went out, frequently, we had the outhouse. I wanted to build an outhouse here but they`re specifically outlawed. So now I want to put those outhouse cut-outs in the door of my woodshed so it looks like an outhouse.

I just ate one of my spicy cookies. It was nom, but now my tongue is hot.

Oh, I'm sure the circuitry is fried. That became obvious when I turned on the light and it sizzled. By the time the manager came down, I couldn't turn it back on.

My real worry is the leak. The elderly lady upstairs took a bath yesterday and I had an issue on Thanksgiving weekend where massive amounts of bubbles started coming up from the kitchen drain. Apparently, it had been happening periodically for some time to the guy downstairs, but he hadn't said anything.

So I'm just worried that the two are connected and it's a worsening problem that might cause the ceiling to cave or something.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I expect extended immersion is going to tend to worse consequences than temporary wetness. I'd be grateful if it worked that way on a light fixture.
