I KNOW! I'm so pissed that she continues to drive. She'll ask for rides when they're available but she will drive when there isn't anyone to take her.

Would setting yourself a mini-deadline work? i.e., wallow in angst about that exam until a certain time and then throw yourself into studying for tonight's exam after that?
