Ann, that's a ferret.

Sigh. More feline drama over the weekend. Nothing serious~ma would be appreciated.

When we got home Friday, Marie (Max's sister) was gagging and breathing with her mouth open. We took her to the emergency vet, who did a couple of X-rays. She's down about 3/4 of a pound over the last month and may have a small mass in her chest. Ultrasound is scheduled for this afternoon.

We also took her to the regular vet on Saturday for some feel-better work -- some IV fluids (she was a little dehydrated), anti-nausea medicine, a Pepcid injection, a Vitamin B-12. Also an appetite stimulant, which we had in supply. Oh, yes, and testing fecal samples from Arthur and Victor to rule out parasites.

The appetite stimulant (Mirtazapine, which is more fun to say than to write) made her a little hyper. But Marie seemed to be somewhat better yesterday. She did eat a little. (Her ability to keep it down is kind of hit or miss.)

And what's with all the carrots?

Anyone have recommendations on a coffee brewer that fits a single, but tall travel cup?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Anyone have recommendations on a coffee brewer that fits a single, but tall travel cup?

Melitta cones fit on top of anything, and they're cheap to boot - [link]

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

A cooking dilemma: I was going to make (more or less) this for my work party, but my coworker is allergic to pine nuts. So, is there something I could buy to replace the pesto, or would I have to make my own? (Apparently almonds are OK.) Or should I just bag the whole idea and make something different?

Any thoughts appreciated.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Grump. Moving desks today. To a smaller cube. Where I will feel more exposed.

Now tagless for your comfort.

AAARRRGGGGHHHH! My eldest sister just called me. She's legally blind but continues to fucking drive. This morning, she went to the pharmacy and on the way back, DROVE THROUGH A TRAIN SIGNAL. Meaning, she hit the arm and completely smashed the windshield of their car. This is the only vehicle they have that can get her husband to work. She asked me for $600 to replace the windshield. Ten days before Christmas.

She's lucky she didn't drive into the FUCKING TRAIN AND DIE.

Art Crawl!!!

No way!

Cashmere - man, that is just off. What could make her stop driving?

Coding and Sleeping

What could make her stop driving?

I suppose driving into the FUCKING TRAIN would probably do the trick.

I'm not sure, sumi. She can't get her license renewed because SHE'S BLIND. But she continues to drive--even driving her grandkids around in the car. Her husband has had previous DUIs so I don't even know if he's ever gotten his license reinstated.
