How do you nog cooked eggs, ita?
I kind of miss our old yard at Christmas. We had several types of waxed-leaf evergreen shrubs, two holly trees, several cedars, a huge old white pine for branch sprays and cones, plus dried needles to make miniature wreaths, and an immense old scuppernong vine we pruned every year, that I used the trimmings from to make my own grapevine wreaths.
Of course now we get windfall balsam and fir twigs and branches, so those are good for sprays and edgings and things, too.
They're having a mumblecore screening at the bar. I was only a matter of time, I guess.
I'm making cookies. I got a cookie press a few weeks ago with a Williams Sonoma gift card, so I'm having fun with that.

I make egg nog with hot milk. In fact, I didn't realise people drank it cold until my late 20s.
So, in a fit of craziness, I decided to make elf hats with jingle bells for our class. 36 kids and 4 adults. I got mine and Emeline's done today mostly cause I was prototyping them. I got 15 of the kid ones cut out and sewn together today. I'll do some more later tonight, tomorrow, and Wednesday night and then put on the trim and bells.
I've also got to get a big fleece blanket made for one of my teacher's birthday on Tuesday, study for a final tomorrow, and write a final paper. And pick up cookie supplies.
Kill me now, but I love it.
Ok, I made dark chocolate chunk chili cookies and spice cookies with caramel frosting. I declare both nom. But sadly, the hostess of the party is at the ER with abdominal pain. So no party! And now I have 42 cookies and only two people in the house. Woes.
I hear cookies mail quite nicely.
Re: FNL: It's funny explaining the ins and outs of high school football politics to Joe. His high school had no sports team and he is all like, "Dude. What the fuck's a 'booster'? What the hell are 'rally girls'?"

Well, to be fair, my high school had a football team, and we had neither boosters nor rally girls. Of course, I grew up in New England. Southern high school football madness is not like other parts of the country.
I take it you're watching more FNL. I remember thinking during that first season that I was very happy I went to boarding school.
Or, what Consuela said.
