'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I used to hate zoris but as I've gotten older the skin between my toes may have gotten less sensitive. At any rate, I often wear an old pair of flip flops around the house in lieu of slippers.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I love, love, love my toe socks. Especially be cause I wear toe rings. Many of them. Kepps toes from squishing and creating blisters. Plus I can still pick stuff up with my toes if they are differetiated in my socks. Warm and still mobile. More toe socks for meeeeeeee.

Art Crawl!!!

I need some new tights.

Also, I have groceries. I spent $$$$$$. And that was after taking the cat to the vet.

She hadn't been to the vet since 1998. And I have learned that an 18 year old cat is like an 88 year old human. Explains the crochetiness. Also, she is in very good shape for her age - whew.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Toe socks creep me out. I don't wear flip flops for other reasons (the flipping, and also the flopping). Toe shoes (not the dance shoes--the other kind) creep me out even more,

Finishing up making pancakes. I wish this recipe made either 1 serving or 2. 4 pancakes of this size? Wrong. 1 serving is 3.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Between me shopping and holiday shopping, I am going have a stroke when I see my visa bill.

Heh. I just put a new furnace/central air on my Visa. Ooof.

LAistas - The LA Arboretum's Lucky Baldwin Queen Anne Victorian is having an open house today 'til 3pm. The vintage Santa Anita rail depot will be open as well. Victorian reenactors, etc. Lots of pretty. [link]

hip deep in pie

I just put a new furnace/central air on my Visa. Ooof.

Ooof! I have an account that I try to squirrel a little away into for house stuff. But this fall I used a good chunk of it on a new table and renting the equipemnt to do my floors, so if anything goes, it will be to the old Visa. I have to commit to a winter of frugality to pay off bills and start building the home repair fund again.

Well, at least it'll be a warm credit card....

Between my neighbor and I, we have 16 bags of leaves. Regular pickup limit is 5 per. So everyone on the block is getting their own bags of pre-packaged leaves

OK, need to run to an art mart and hopefully accomplish some gift buying.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Argh. Verizon sent a phone bill, with my name, to my old address. The post office forwarded it here. I looked at it, and it's not a phone number that I've ever had. The area code is in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I tried calling Verizon about it. The first time I called, I put in the account number from the bill. After asking me a zillion more automated questions, it transferred me to a recording telling me to call back during regular business hours. I tried again, this time putting in the phone number from the bill instead of the account number. It told me that service to that number had been transferred to another company, and gave me the number of that company. I called them, and their automated system didn't have any record of this phone number. Argh.
