Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Congrats on the new job, slayeroshadow!

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Is the news that The Hasselhoffs got canceled after only two episodes appropriate for the Good Stuff tumblr? Or do we need a separate Schadenfreude tumblr now?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Whoo, shadow! Congrats!

Yay for being able to see, tommyrot!

I am a worker bee today, but the SO is sicky, so it'll be a light day for him. One make-up lesson, a little grocering, then a rest day. We were supposed to go to (i.e. cook for) an international dinner tonight, but I don't expect we'll make it since he's not feeling great.

Otherwise, we actually have a weekend. He's off this Saturday, although he plays that night. We're looking forward to actually having a few days in a row off. Although I'm trying to get as much done in the office as possible before Christmas break, because it would do me good to have that as an actual break, not a working break.

information libertarian

My big goal for the weekend is to get the kids to the mall in Atlanta where they make it snow (outside), without warning them, and time it right so the snow is falling and it's dark and magical and they are thrilled.

The problem is that although the weather all week has been frigid and clear - perfect for this surprise - tomorrow we're going to have highs in the 50s and it might rain. They don't make snow at all if it rains! I want to make my kids plotz; please cooperate, weather!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ooh, that would be magical, flea! Good luck with the weather.

Congrats, slayer!

Or do we need a separate Schadenfreude tumblr now?

If there's not a fuckyeahschadenfreude already, there really should be.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Photo of Pegasus. Yes, that Pegasus. OR IS IT.

ION, people are using jackhammers to knock down walls and rip up the concrete floor in our building. (They're doing modifications for the new tenants.) But I'm wearing noise-cancelling headphones so I can hardly hear it.

Congrats, shadowslayer!

This weekend I'm finishing up Christmas shopping and, weather permitting, flying Sunday. The forecast suggests that weather won't be too cooperative, alas.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

how it's well-known there's a huge, deadly outbreak in California and I am a huge OMG, get your damn vax proponent for the last several years

Mybrotherthedoctor is an infectious disease specialist, and one thing I learned from him over Thanksgiving is that there were about a thousand deaths in the US in the last year (or maybe that's cumulative since the whole anti-vacc thing started, not sure) of young adults who contracted diseases they should have been vaccinated for as children, but weren't. I had thought that the primary risk from the anti-vacc people was to the children who could not be vaccinated because of their age or other medical issues--but no, the children of the anti-vacc people are paying the price for their parents' beliefs.

As for Perkins' question, I'm going to see the new Narnia movie, and maybe The Tempest (Helen Mirren as Prospera, woot!), and having a birthday dinner with my family. Cake and presents!
