Yet we still tend to celebrate Christmas with roasts and other winter food, despite the likelihood of 30+ temperatures.
Well, we do that in Jamaica because that's what we do every Sunday. I still don't have the hang of the idea of seasonal food that way either. Our oven was equally used 365 days of the year. Winter food? Summer food? Wotsat?
My goal for the next few days is to have enough energy to put up the tree and make gingerbread bats
Holy crap. I have a book and a bat goodie bag I need to put in the mail to you.

Eeeee! I promise to gleefully squee about Sam on GCS, LJ, Twitter, and FB. Oh, and any other social media thing I'm on. Just tell me where I need to point people so they can purchase it.
MMMM, marzipan.
One of my co-workers made the CI choco cupcakes and she added a touch of brandy to the frosting and the cupcakes were nummy.
I like the word marzipan. Can't eat the stuff, though.

Awesome! Thanks. Did I ever send you the Jilli bat chapter?
Last time I had marzipan, I liked it. But I'm leery of trying it again - I've heard too much about bad marzipan.
Looks like our DC trip in March is coming together. Woot!!! (Though when I called KCD to double check something with him, he announced that he had just had 3 or 4 more teeth pulled. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww {he is working his way to dentures - only has 3 bottom teeth as it is})
Timelies all!
I can take marzipan in small amounts. It starts to get cloying after a while.
the chicken and rice I made with Ethiopian red chili powder is yum, but mac is refusing to even try it. silly man-child. at least he is eating some of the jello I made.
