Kat, I've had a hard time remembering to vote but I've voted several times. I've linked to it on Facebook and Friendfeed.com before. I just voted again. And I just tweeted about it. And a friend of mine saw it and tweeted Michael Pollan about it so maybe, if we're lucky, something will come of that. I'm sorry it's been a bummer. I'm really sorry they've given you that many students per class, too!

I've got a squash and chestnut casserole recipe that's really good, but it takes a while to make. I usually make it for Thanksgiving.

Loki gets a disproportionate number of pictures because a) he's a poser b) for a crazy active cat, he holds still when a camera is pointed at him and c) he just photographs well. If I approach Devi or MK with a camera or the laptop, invariably they run away or towards me or glare or blink or otherwise lose what I was trying to capture. Loki? He sleeps funny, and nearby and if you get eye contact going, he waits for a cue.

Vet instructions to me were to only feed my kitty Squeaky tonight if she was hungry, and then only 1/3rd of a regular feeding. She just wolfed it down and is still hungry - poor thing.

And a vet assistant told me you can bring pets on the CTA if they're caged. So I decided to just try it and see if anyone said anything. No one did, so I saved $8 cab fare back. Got a few smiles from people admiring the pretty kitty....

tommy, you need to show us Squeaky. Glad she got some nice attention on the way home.

I'm currently starving Loki. He's too fat. So I measure out his food and don't just fill the dish full (miraculously, he isn't raiding the other cats' food, which is...new.) But my ankles are being bitten a lot, and I'm probably not paying close enough attention and giving him more than I planned, cause I can't recall, did I fill it last night?

WEIRD. I mean, I recently donated for a fanvid and pledged for Misha's run, so obviously fandom donations isn't an alien idea. But MC Hammer retweeting me? Just weird. Nathan Fillion's going for over $3K, last I looked.

The celebs are sort of competing with each other so they're throwing in things to sweeten the deal. Fillion is including a personal phone call and Felicia Day is including The Guild DVDs.

Sara, when I had to cut back on Petri's food I went from 2 feedings a day to 3 but the total food was less. He just didn't notice that it was less.

Oh, and when I was talking to the assistant vet about taking cabs and/or trains, he says, "You obviously don't have a car." I was so tempted to say, "No, I have two."
