I messed my knee up good in June (I didn't do anything special, it just decided to go FUBAR). Because of my move, I couldn't stay off it the way I was supposed to. There was tons of going up and down stairs 'til the end of July. I've tried to keep mostly off it since and that's partly why my move has been so traumatic. Not only do I not have a car but I can't even bike or walk very far. I was looking forward to taking daily walks with my dad and building up fitness again.
I haven't yet seen the doc and gotten an assessment of my MRI but my dad invited me to take a walk today. I tried to find something nearby to go to that would be about 1 mi total walk. We were talking so I didn't pay attn to where we should go so we actually walked more like 1.5 mi. The knee feels about the same right now so that's good. My fingers are fat as sausages from all the blood rushing to them. While I don't like that feeling, it's good because I normally have such circulation problems in my arms. Anything that drives more blood there is good. Now having a cold soda and catching up with boards, email.
Spidra -- I had a friend with a serious RSI ( as in she was told not to use her arms for 6 months or she might lose all use of them ). She was supposed to walk a lot ( no knee problems ) to increase her circulation. While she was walking , she was told to lift her arms over her head every so often. That was to keep the blood from pooling in her fingers and improve her circulation.
