Happy Birthday, Nora!
Oh, and interview ~ma, smonster!
And, uh, Happy Birthday, Tom Hardy, because he'd probably find a way to vanity Google himself here.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, pandas, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Thanks for the help on the email last night - I have an interview Friday morning! I don't even know where to begin prepping this interview, I have traditionally not interviewed well. Any advice/coaching much appreciated.
Speak slowly and don't be afraid to take a breath and pause before answering any questions. I usually talk too fast and ramble in my answers during phone interviews, so I always try to remember to pause and figure out my reply before I speak.
Happy Birthday, Nora!!

Research the person as well as the job (this is easier than it used to be). Check their Linked In profile, Facebook, etc. for commonalities. Don't necessarily discuss them as commonalities, but be prepared to segue into them. Research the position and have questions ready. A general one that is always relevant is to ask for metrics of success for the job -- you want to know not just what the job it, but what they think makes a person good at it.
Happy birthday, Nora!
Sleep interrupted by Aunt Flo so I have another day of not getting up 'til noon. Going to make an effort to go on a walk with my dad, though.
probably make an appointment for Ben's bum foot at A.I. Dupont again. They're sliding scale, and he was there as a baby, so maybe that won't be too bad.
I was there as a baby too! (Born with hip displasia...just like an elderly german shepherd.) It's actually one of my first memories, being carried down the hall there.
Oh my god, I knew it
Wait...knew what? That she'd dispute the results?
In stupid work news, I have one developer for my project who I need for, seriously, like 125% of his time in the next month. And another project is saying they need him for 100% of his time this month too. NUTS! Who knows how this is supposed to work.
Oh, and interview ~ma, smonster!
Sorry you found out here! Can't talk about it in office, natch.
Thank you, javachik and Vortex. It's an in-person interview (position starts here, then moves to NOLA) but I know I speak too fast sometimes anyway. I like that "metrics of success" thing, that is pretty key.
Damn, I should probably remove my green nail polish prior, huh? Interviewer is a bit of a Bubba, apparently. And I did such a good job on it, too. I wonder how dressed up I should get for a construction position? I have a black not-too-fancy suit I can wear.
Check this out. An online kerfuffle (dog fancy) leads to lawsuits.
Oh, I misread and thought it was a phone interview! Go get 'em, Smonster!

Yup. Kinda expected that regardless of the margin, if she loses, she won't go gracefully.
