Sometimes when I'm sitting in class... You know, I'm not thinking about class, 'cause that would never happen. I think about kissing you. And it's like everything stops. It's like, it's like freeze frame. Willow kissage.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

WTF, Tommy. Still?

Yep. My usual bike ride commute would have taken me a block (or less) away from the scene. They have three North/South streets and two East/West streets blocked off with people there to make sure no one gets through. I don't know if they're letting people who live there through.

Yay!

ION, Casper just asked if I knew that Justin Bieber was gay. Just a lesson, for parents of younger kids, that once your kid is at loose on the world you have very little control over what they pick up. She did know what gay was (which I don't think we've ever discussed explicitly) and didn't seem to think it was anything more than a curiosity. But I don't think Bieber is gay, actually.

She is probably just confused because he looks like so many lesbians.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Congrats, msbelle!

Don't worry, I use biodegradeable soaps.

You probably know this, but "biodegradable" is a loosy-goosy marketing term with no real standards, and has no meaning WRT to toxicity. An example I read earlier today - DDT biodegrades... into even more harmful chemicals. /not a chemist

Hivemind! I am typing an email to a nonprofit that has my resume and in theory is interested in interviewing me - I have the email drafted but what should I put in the subject line?

msbelle!

Oh god, my public radio station guy had the mike on when he didn't know it, so you heard all these weird vocalizations and weird accents and I'm pretty sure he disparaged a program on later. And it isn't the first time this particular guy has done that. It's very...listen from the hall.

DInner of champions: banana shake and a spinach empanada.

I voted! It's at the school between me and the Y, so I could just walk there! And it wasn't crazy busy (of course, this is a primary, so) but there was a steady flow of people at a little after 5.

sarameg - I keep remembering that I never responded to your query for NOLA information - have your parents already gone?

what? it's true. [link]

So the only things now with the closing are 1) waiting! 2) getting together the $9K I have to pay the buyer in concessions.

Shockingly, I know, I don't have $9K sitting around. I am pooling the savings accounts, but I bet I'll have to go to the parents. hate.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yay for msbelle! Yay for votey people! Yay for me; I just swam two laps more than I intended. Note how I am not like sara swimming a mile longer than intended. But I swam every day for the past three, even with school schedule. So I think this will work, as long as the weather holds out. I am down six pounds overall from when I started changing diet and exercise, which is not a huge loss, but puts me under the last plateau, and thus the lowest I`ve weighed in a few years. And my fat percentage is down two percent according to my (wildly inaccurate I`m sure) body fat scale. But more importantly, I feel more comfortable and stronger in the water, which I will appreciate next year when I buy my kayak.

However, my body would also like to inform me that it is very tired. And I still have peaches to tackle.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Cool, msbelle.

Hand is still large. Going back for more icing.

I'm pretty sure I'll be back at work tomorrow no matter what the size. I may be cursing at my keyboard though, like now.
