Hivemind, can anyone recommend some resources - books or websites or I dunno, techniques, for making decisions collaboratively? We have a hard time finding time to even sit down and discuss things (like, possibly changing our health insurance plan, or where we will go for Christmas this year) and even when we talk about stuff, it is nearly impossible to actually decide to do something and DO it. (Note: I don't have this trouble at work at all, oddly.)
could use a little help here, too. Not for everything, but there are times when thing just don't get done. And i think we would be happier if we did something
Are both partners at computers during the workday?
See, I don't get things done, but I have no one to blame but me. It's not a bad decision making process, it's just lazy-ass-ness.
The process is similar at work, but for some reason they get more fraught with family. even deciding where to eat is more difficult at home.
We try to hash stuff out over IM at work, and have had some success. One problem with that is that I have energy in the early morning, and mr. flea has energy at like 4pm. He got on chat at 4 today and wanted to know what it was I'd been wanting to talk about, and I was too tired to get into it. But if we chat in the mornings, I think he is not really awake. Also he feels like I am constantly harassing him to talk about plans over chat, so he doesn't keep it open any more. (Like, chatting 2-3 times a week to try and discuss evening and weekend plans is harassing?)
So I did get my hair cut: [link]
Also, plant-knowledge people - these are things in my yard [link] 2-3 pics of each plant. ideas what they are?
I don't have permission to see your haircut msbelle! Sad.
what's your name on flickr?
nevermind, got it. added.
Neither do I! And I thought I did, because I'm sure I've seen msbelle pics before. I'm Zmayhem there.
I had my interview and thought it went well. Job seems all right, nice people.
My only concerns are bit of a long drive, about 40 minutes, and in addition to helping out with English when the Tutoring Center is slammed, I would also need to help out with math.
Um. I took "Math Concepts" (think Sumerian number system, etc) in 1990 and Education States in 2004. That's about it since high school, and I was a D/C student in math course. I would need to brush up A LOT. Like maybe, take a course a lot.
