Snipers? Really? Or is that poor NPR-speak for "guns in schools"?
I'm going to start worrying about snipers more, just in my daily life.
Actually, when I lived in DC and had people come stay, it was fun showing them snipers. I didn't worry about those snipers, though...
There was that DC sniper guy... Edit: him: [link]
I never saw him! Just the ones on the White House, mostly.
Hivemind, can anyone recommend some resources - books or websites or I dunno, techniques, for making decisions collaboratively? We have a hard time finding time to even sit down and discuss things (like, possibly changing our health insurance plan, or where we will go for Christmas this year) and even when we talk about stuff, it is nearly impossible to actually decide to do something and DO it. (Note: I don't have this trouble at work at all, oddly.)
Developer 1 has been sent home to work from there because he has a cold. I'm feeling like I have a cold.
Boss is contemplating having us
come into the office
over the weekend. There is so much less for us to do this weekend than last go-live weekend. Also? I don't drive on Sundays. I'm not sure how to broach that.
Heh. Probably not many people will get this, but I was saying just recently (and half seriously) that someone needs to run a Six Sigma project on my family. We need some process improvement!

I was staying with meara in DC when that was happening.
Witness airlines' horrifying vision for the future of air travel
Here's a harrowing image: the SkyRider design for new cheapo airplane seats. Clearly designed with cramming as many people as humanly possible onto a plane without much regard for their comfort, it's apparently being looked at by several airlines.
