Because books.

Dumplings always sound good to me.

I used to love A&W burgers, but I remember them from years back, when they were less actual fast food and more someplace like Fuddrucker's (and I haven't had one of those near me in years).

She said for them to go ahead, and then "but obviously you feel like you can jump in line wherever you want".

Ah, the passive-aggressive approach. Don't bother if you can't commit one way or another, lady.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

This weekend I am going to the garage sale (for the friend's sis I helped pack last weekend) at 8:30. In return for my help she is kindly letting us have some of the plants from her yard, but we have to dig them up. Then home and planting them.

Then In-Laws come to stay for the night. DH's dad wants a new car, a used Mustang convertible, but they only have $1,000 saved up and have decided their kids should buy the car for him. They already have two cars, but the junker he drives makes him feel "depressed," apparently. DH's siblings called him already to warn him he's going to get the guilt full court press. These are the parents, I might add, who did not pay one penny toward DH's education, because he didn't study medicine like they wanted. They live in a house on his sister's property because they never managed to save any money their whole lives.

We do get to escape from the guilt-a-thon on Saturday night when we go see Neil Finn at Largo. Woo Hoo.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I love a good passive aggression.

There's a guy here who I swear is so borderline I don't understand how he gets away with it. Every fibre of his body screams "If I didn't work for/with you I'd smash your face in for that attitude." And then he gives in. I love it every time.

Which is probably very unhealthy.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Maybe I can have some for you tonight, Dana.

Since I'm going to be at SFO.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Ugh, I have to make cold calls to ask for money for a good cause that I totally believe in but I still hate calling people and asking for money.

Do you have an update on the sitch? I reposted your plea on fb and made a donation of my own, but want to craft a more targeted appeal. Anyway, if you know more and have a chance, I'd love to chat some time this weekend.

eta Rah Rah! You can do it! Stay focused.

Punishingly Intricate

mmmm bao

I just had leftovers from this awesome Splendid Table recipe Sichuan Pork Noodles, except I make it with ground turkey. Spicy peanut noodle yumminess!

Tonight I'm meeting my folks at my place and having early dinner then dropping them off to see Prairie Home Companion live and meeting up with Bob for 2nd dinner in Fed Hill.

Saturday all day is our neighborhood festival and there are a ton of great bands playing and my bike team has a booth near the best stage! So I'll be there most of the day.

Sunday is yoga then helping my old bandmate out with doing some backing vocals on a track for her band. Let's see if I can still sing!

ETA Have a GREAT trip, Perkins!!!!
