I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

People can move here too, as our local economy's pretty good. The question is whether you'd want to.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Is it wierd that this organization is asking for letters of recommendation?

Does linkedin count?

(I think letters of recommendation are weird, myself)

Good luck, Theodosia!

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Best of luck with the interview, Theo!

Ann, that's a ferret.

The Federal government means that DC's economy isn't going to fall below a certain point. The down side is, getting hired by the Feds is a long process.

Because books.

Good luck, Theo!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

(I think letters of recommendation are weird, myself)

They just seem so potentially fake. But maybe that's just me -- when I was an intern for the City of Philadelphia, I wrote my parents a letter on Mayor Rendell's letterhead and signed it, and they totally believed it was from him. Oops.

Trust my rage

Is it wierd that this organization is asking for letters of recommendation?

Ii think it's weird unless you are in an industry where you might have letters of recommendation from former supervisors that might be hard to get a hold of in the future. (I had a letter of recommendation from a judge once because I/she didn't want people calling her for every job I might apply for. Joe once had several letters from generals for a position where there was a review board.)

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

We use letters of recommendation all the time, but it's like pulling teeth to get them. We generally need about three or four every granting cycle. I always feel weird about them.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Happy Birthday to Nutty and to Spidra!

Good luck, Theo!
