I'm making crockpot chili with chive-flecked cornmeal dumplings. It seemed like a good idea in principle, but I think it needs more spice than the recipe calls for.
If the recipe is (by any chance) from
Fresh from the Vegetarian Slow Cooker,
then the answer is yes, it does.
Much ~ma to Kristen and Drew. We love you both. Those of us who can't do anything concrete still give you our thoughts and wishes. And don't worry about frequency of updates. Update when convenient, but no one wants updating to be another obligation or chore. If we need go some time between news, better that than add stress.

It is. And yes, it needs way more spice, but I don't have any more chili powder, so I'm just considering it a mildly-spicy tomato bean soup, I guess.
Trying to make chicken soup tonight vaguely Italian. A matter of using igredients and spices that I'm used to seeing in Italian recipes rather than following a particular recipe. In crockpot: Chicken breasts on the bone with a tiny bit of sweet Italian sausage for extra flavor. Veggies: celery, onions, muchroomms, tomatoes. Liquids water, wine, lemon juice, olive oil. Spices garlic, marjoram, thyme, sweet basil, black pepper and a hint of brown sugar to avoid bitterness. Will add pasta at end.
Kat, do you still need jeans? A number have surfaced during clean all the things.
My new living/dining room!! [link]
Oh, pretty! That looks so warm and cozy!
Nice! Sometimes I think I'll never have a grownup looking house. Between the books and the hodgepodge of furnishings and the fact that I'm not really buying furniture for the bit, so I'm stuck with things like the stupid filing cabinet... ah well, it's me. A bit of a hodgepodge.
Our books are in the basement on shelves right now, but I'm hoping to bring at least a bunch of the hardcovers up when I get my new bookcase for the dining room. I hate not having books up here.
Ooh, Aims! How welcoming it looks!
Spaghetti squash sporked and in the oven. Sauce in the crockpot containing: tomatoes (canned), onions, garlic, red and purple peppers, (all from our garden), zucchini, squash, basil, (all from the farmer`s market, although the basil counts as half ours since I planted out the rooted cuttings from the farmer), and dried oregano and thyme. Guess I need to grow oregano & thyme! We had enough tomatoes for the sauce, too, but I`m using those and the farmers` market tomatillos for salsa verde.
