"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Whew! Finished. Twelve of twelve. I put the broken one in a non-people-weight-bearing spot, at the SO`s suggestion. I am super pleased with myself, as I am not a handy person. I would like to be, but I`m not. Anyway, it is done! Tomorrow I will go through my boxes and put them up there and I will be so happy to have my closet space.

I could see where I could put one more set of four, but really, this is pretty good. And I changed the lightbulbs up there which were stealth incandescents, one of which had already burned out, to compact flourescents. I think there are probably incandescents in the crawlspace too.

AND I found the manual for our furnace...on top of the furnace. So I call it total win!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Watched through to episode five of the wire. Bon was right--this is where it goes from a theoretically good show to "Oh. Oooh." I was very amused by the fuck CSI scene, and by the amount of tension they can ratchet up with absolutely no violence--with all the violence happening elsewhere.

Now tagless for your comfort.

My kids enjoyed it though:

Looks like fun was had by all! Cute!

I am awake because Olivia's sleep is all screwed up. I let Christopher talk me into not taking her to urgent care yesterday. Mild fever and sore throat. I suspect strep. She's watching Backyardigans and sipping some 7-Up.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

If Ski Teal We Drop is part of the Swiss collection, then that's what I have on my nails right now! (Toes are From A to Zurich, which is a very nice pink but not as awesome as the teal. Oh well, I can barely see my toes these days anyway.)

My morning so far has involved Reading All The Internets and Drinking All The Coffee while Dylan Watches All The TV. Between the baseball game yesterday and staying up to watch Mad Men, I'm completely wiped.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

hmm, it seems my OPI for Sephora teal, Mermaid to Order, is no longer available. They cycle through colors really fast.

Today we are going to a place called Dinosaur World where they have life-sized dino models out on the grounds set amongst a paved walkway, also a small and probably not great museum. We may also go to the State Park Next Door where there are preserved Dino prints. It's over an hour to drive there, so we are leaving here before 9.

mac did not make it the whole night in his bed, but almost. I am more rested than I've been for the last 4 days.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

What was the song, it was a hit maybe two years ago or so, I think it might have been an American Idol person, but I'm not sure? Female singer, singing about how her parents were divorced (or something), and now she runs away from commitment, just like her mother did? New Taylor Swift song reminded me of that one, but I can't remember what it was, and it's driving me nuts.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I've been to Dinosaur Valley State Park to see the dinosaur prints. If the river's low enough, you can see a remarkable number of prints, plus it has a nice little museum and and some dinosaur replicas built by Sinclair Oil Company for the NY Worlds Fair.

I've been there because there's a very well run nuclear plant near Glen Rose, Comanche Peak. It has visitor's center Mac might want to see sometime.

Hil, perhaps you're thinking of "Because of You", by Kelly Clarkson? Here are the lyrics: [link]

Yes! Thank you!

I'm watching VH-1, and just saw two videos on that same theme within about 15 minutes. One by Taylor Swift (ugh), and "The Only Exception" by Paramore.
