I've got a four-day weekend coming up--taking Tuesday off to spend time with MOm. She came out here for Uncle Ray and Aunt Denise's 50th anniversary party (a small one, just for their kids and siblings, since they had the big blowout party for their 40th) on Sunday, and then she's driving up to spend Sunday night through Tuesday afternoon with me.
I really have to clean my apartment tonight and tomorrow afternoon after class is done!!
Timelies!
Happy birthday, Liese!
Last night I took my first Metro Rail ride/s to see Jerry Beck's cartoons and Janet Klein & the Parlor Boys at the Steven Allen Theater. That's an interesting venue. They handed me a folder of posters for upcoming attractions that must have cost a mint to print.
There's a "slumber party" coming up there in late Oct. that I'm thinking about attending.
Anyway, I learned that the Gold Line goes to at least three places I'd like to visit but are too far away for me to bike to (unless and until my knee heals) so that's good news.
I have a wasps nest right now, but I think flame devices are probably the wrong answer, as it`s on the controls for my giant propane tank.
Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone. And aww, look, USA has given me a birthday present: White Collar marathon!
IOW, guess who has sensory integration issues?
Huh, well, I bet that explains a lot of things. Good luck with the diversions!
Happy Birthday, Liese!
and now I've forgotten everything else I was going to post. Time to go back and click on the links I ignored. Except the one about the you-know-what!

OTOH, this would be a perfect opportunity to exclaim, "Made it, Ma! Top of the world!"
Timelies all!
Happy Birthday Liese!
No real plans for the weekend, which is fine by me.
But there are steps that can be taken to minimise their prevalence, and I judge when people don't.
Asian tiger mosquitoes, the evil creatures that have invaded a number of Southern states, can reproduce in a tablespoon of water. An upturned leaf under ivy is enough to do it, which is one of the main reasons I've now killed most of the ivy. I scour the yard for water and still get attacked by swarms of them, even though they don't range far at all from where they're hatched.
Happy Birthday, Liese!
I can't stop creating roller derby names. I can't believe Skanky McFarland hasn't been registered. Maybe too obscure?
In a country with as poor a health infrastructure as Jamaica's, striking at the source of infection is very important. I'm going to keep judging. Lives are on the line.
