A year and a half ago, I could have eviscerated him with my thoughts. Now I can barely hurt his feelings. Things used to be so much simpler.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Don't waste your breath getting outraged at a NYT trend piece, people! It's one outraged member of the IBTC!

One outraged member with two friends!

Anyway, now I'm pissed off that Earl might ruin my CSA farm. I forgot about that part! My pickup tomorrow is already cancelled.

That does suck. We're now out of it's path, but the part of the province with all the apple orchards is due to get hit...and it's the best apple season in years.

I guess I am heading to CB on Saturday??? If the storm doesn't wobble??? And my catsitting plans work out???

Earl IS Tino. He's been messing up my plans all week.

Compassionately intolerant

Nobody in school was ever as brutal as dear old dad, but I do remember getting punched square in the belly...on the bus...by a girl from my neighborhood. No discernible reason that I can recollect, though her home life was pretty awful too.

The outrage was being held equal in blame in the principal's eyes.

I think I've mentioned here before how weird it is, as an adult, to have pretty much ALL the schoolmates I have spoken to in the last 10 years, or so, apologizing for the ways that they treated me back then.

Not only can I scarcely remember what they are even talking about, but I couldn't possibly care less now. In fact, the apologies are way more awkward than any possible memories.

I wonder if there was a precipitous drop in babies named Katrina.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I don't remember ever being physically bullied. Teased, yes, always about my weight (but never about my glasses or me being a big ol' nerd, surprisingly enough), but physically abused, never.

For me, the biggest bad memory from junior high was the fact that my nickname for those three years came from one of my classmates saying when we were in 6th grade that I was "as big as the Caspian Sea," so my nickname became "Kaspee." It was ubiquitous--if we ever had a reunion now, that would be the name most of my classmates would call me.

I would bet that, by 7th grade, if you had asked the kid who came up with that line where my nickname came from, he couldn't tell you.

But I could.

msbelle, I'm so glad that mac is home safe, and I just echo what everyone has said about the hard work you do every day. I'm in awe.

Good luck, Amy, with the transition.
