(I have to admit: while I've known many awesome and adorable dogs of all kinds of mixes, including most importantly "we don't what the hell it is so we're going to slap a label on it"-a-doodles, the cutesy oodle names are nails on a chalkboard to me like unto fandom portmanteaus.)
(This of course is a personal peeve thing like all the language peeves the other day, and not meant to reflect on anyone else!)
My problem is mainly I want greens from THIS vendor (seriously, I just learned that they'll mix whatever greens you want, since they price them all the same, need to try mixing in some new stuff with the spinach,) stone fruits from THAT one, tomatoes from THEM THAR one, apples from THAT OTHER one, etc. I've figured out mostly which ones I prefer. So I'll probably keep doing it this way. They are all local, so. I dislike being forced to be adventurous in meal prep. I barely tolerate it as is.
Market was crazy today. I think about now is the peak season, plus all the heirlooms are coming ripe. So many varieties! I prefer the cherry and grape for salads, but really ought to try some.
The report I have is that the name was given to baby echidnas in 1988 by volunteers at the echidna research station on Kangaroo Island.
Mine is from sometime before 1983 (I know it was elementary school) and I think several years before that, actually. The tag does say puggle. He's sitting on my knee right now.
Chihuahua Playing Pool
So cute! (But he doesn't use a cue stick.)
Fucking cheating chihuahua.
I thought the randomness of my CSA would drive me nuts, but I actually like it. There is usually a trade box at our pickup, so sometimes I'll trade away something that doesn't appeal and pick up something that does.
I am loving all the summer squash we are getting these days. I'm the only one in the house who likes it, so they are ALL MINE!!! NOM! Need to figure out something for the Kohlrabi. That is my current challenge.
Aside from everything else, the chihuahua totally scratched at 0:42 and never pulled a ball out of the pocket.
Shrift, I have a cordless that you are welcome to borrow.
Thanks! If I can't find something inexpensive at Target, I may take you up on that.
I know its more work, but it sure sounds like everybody's eating better with their CSAs.
In general, yes. Although for dinner I just made a giant bowl of guacamole and ate it with tortilla chips, but only because I had homemade tomato sauce with linguine and zucchini for lunch, roasted beets with gruyère for a snack, and half a muskmelon.
I just managed to peel my finger with the new potato peeler I bought this afternoon.
Not while peeling things with it, either--while washing it.
