The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I have shoes almost exactly like that, and I love them, Scrappy.

My coffee maker is being too slow.

Now tagless for your comfort.

My coffee maker is being too slow.

I've been known to stand in front of one and yell, "HURRY!"

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I went to the farmers market, but it wasn't terribly interesting. In DC, I usually made a rule for myself that, each week, I'd buy at least one thing at the farmers market that I'd never tried before. Sometimes it was just variations on things, like Turkish eggplant or golden beets, but there was always something new to try. The market here just has tomatoes, potatoes, peaches, apples, and corn, mostly. A few peppers. Actually, now that I think about it, there were nectarines, and I don't think I've ever had those before. Also, one booth was run by an Amish woman and little girl, and the little girl kept sneezing all over all the produce.

If I'm still here next year, I think I'll join a CSA.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Oh, Pix. I hope they figure things out and get Drew some quick and effective treatment right away.

Has anyone heard from Brenda? I sent her an email yesterday, but there's been no response yet.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I was wondering about that too, Aurelia. The last couple of things I sent her didn't get answered. I hope she's okay.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

oh dear, does anyone have brenda's phone number? That worries me a bit.

Scrappy, I love those shoes. I have a soft spot for Mary Janes. (I thought of naming my daughter Mary Jane, but Franny Lu won out.)

Our day involves a play date at the kindergarten yard for this fall's crop of kindergarteners. I am so proud of my son, but part of me is in denial that he's starting elementary school so soon. And I just found out the teacher I was hoping for is switching to third grade, so now I need to go back to the school and request a new teacher. Oh well.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

If her number's the same as it was at the Wisconsin F2F, then I've got it. Do you think I should call her?

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Much, MUCH diagnosis and treatment-ma for Drew.

Got a voice mail saying she rarely checks the VM at that #, and to call her work #, which I don't have. BUST.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

brenda does travel a lot for work. She could be on the road.
