Well, a gathering is brie, mellow song stylings; shindig, dip, less mellow song stylings, perhaps a large amount of malt beverage, and hootenanny, well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Oh, yeah, I still hate people.

And I really hate the word heteronormativity.

I need to let go of some stuff.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

And I really hate the word heteronormativity.

Conversely, I have a fondness for the word heteroskedasticity. It played a role in landing me my Philly gig.

Oh, my list of petty crap I hate that tons and tons of people do is long and amusing. [NOTE: this is not the whole list, just a representative sampling of my petty bullshit.]

  • Saying/writing "anywho" (or "anyhoo" -- name your variation, and I loathe it).

  • Referring to kids as "kiddos."

  • Our intern's laugh. (Seriously -- it sounds like the fakest, most insipid, forced, dinner-party, gotta-laugh-to-be-polite laugh in the world. It's barely a step away from her just saying "ha ha ha." But in a high pitched voice.)

  • The way the dalmatian MUST lean and rub against me if I'm near her. I'm so tired of her fur all over my clothes.

Ahahahahaha!!! While I was typing all that, I heard a weird noise like a cross between a hiss and a hork, and the black kitty just shot out from behind the open front door (she was between the door and the wall). I'm a little afraid to see what's back there that made her go from 0 to 60 in 0.5 seconds.

There's a gaming skew in my peeves. People who use rouge instead of rogue (seriously?), and for BSG, confusing Morale and Moral.

(My sharing my hatred of "anywho" with The Boy has led to him using it as much as possible, to see how long it takes me to go insane. Evil.)

Could I have more privilege to resent the presence of "hetero" in heteronormativity? I think it makes it sound like it's about heterosexuality, and it's not.

So, I need to let it go.

Also, I suspect I have learnt I may have been being naive about gender politics again.

Wait, what? I thought it was. Or, at least, a social enforcement of heterosexuality as the ideal.

It's also an enforcement/endorsement of traditional gender roles, which has nothing to do with my heterosexuality, thank you very much.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Can anyone explain why people "like" their own posts on Facebook?

Oooh, fair point.
