Huh - in my neighborhood I don't think I've ever seen goat that expensive.

I've never lived anywhere you can can goat. If they were selling it in NYC grocery stores in the late '80s, I missed it.
It's hard to find packaged lamb chops here, even.
My neighborhood is heavily Trinidadian, so you can get goat pretty much everywhere.
I wonder if they have goat at Wegman's. It occurs to me that I've never actually looked.
I'm also not sure I'm dying to try it, though.
Goat's good eatin'.
Goat is tasty, but I've never had any desire to cook it at home - it takes forever for it to get tender, and I can get goat curry roti for $5 or a goat taco for $1 without leaving my block.
Not a lot of goat here, although you can get it curried in most Indian restaurants.
That's really the only way I've had goat, and I wasn't too impressed. Give me some Midwestern pork chops and fresh corn on the cob any day.
No, really, give them to me. NOW.
ARGH MY EYES MY EYES. Won't stop itching.
Jess, I'm so excited you're having a girl!! God, all my friends have had boys -- of my close friends, with a total of (OMFG) 10 babies, 3 have been girls. And the girls are the oldest ones. The last 6 babies have ALL been boys.
Having had both a baby boy and a baby girl I can vouch that they are both fun.
Goat ... meh, but I'm not much of a meat eater. However, you might find it sold as cabrito.
Oh, I love the baby boys, but boy clothes are BORING. And it's been all boy clothes for 6 years! Ugh. Seriously, at the showers, there have been two repeats at least in presents for everyone, we all buy the one cute boy item and give it.
My friend Traci, who has an SO CUTE little red-headed boy, Liam (heh, I typed that LOAM -- I AM LOAM, FEAR ME) is preggo again, and we are all "Oh, god, please, cute little red-headed girl, want so bad, PLEASE."
Which means, of course, it will be a boy.
