I have been! But I still have BOXES of tuff that I am going to fix/modify.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, pandas, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I am missing the shoe gene. Perhaps it's like the ability to roll your tongue (which I can do).
Connie is me. I feel like I'm deficient somehow because I really don't like shoes.
I have short (5.5), super-wide feet, higher than average arches. Very much like Alley Oop.
I have never really enjoyed, nor felt comfortable, in shoes. When I DO find styles that I like, if I don't buy multiple pairs, I regret it.
An old bf used to chide me for this, so one night, I went all shoe crazy and bought 3 entire new pairs at once. (none of them sneakers) I came in, flush with my victory, to show them off.
Without a word, he walked into the other room and came out with a pair of black clogs, a pair of black granny boots and a pair of black flats that were so similar to what I already had in my closet...not the same brands but the exact same cuts...as to be identical.
He just sighed,"Hopeless," and walked away.

I was pretty good today. With Sara's stuff, I got rid of anything really summery except for a few things for the next few weeks, and only saved other stuff that's nice enough to hand down.
Also, she has way too many clothes. But it's so much easier to buy for her than for me. Also cheaper.
So you bought multiples of shoe styles that fit and are comfortable ... this is a problem because? if you were buying multiple pairs of fuschia and chartreuse stilettos, this might be a problem, but if you're buying shoes you'll be wearing a lot? no problem.
(which may explain the multiple pairs of almost identical black shoes in my closet and under my desk)
If only I won the lottery:
Now announcing the 2011 Megan Walker U.S. tour of organizing and purging. Coming soon to a Buffista town near you!

I totally agree, and yet, the feeling of WIN, when I pull something out of the mending basket and bring it back to life is sweet indeed.
I love being efficient use of resources girl...but I love clean closets more so, yeah, Sort, Assess, Dispense actually makes me happy...uh...not sad...see? See what I did there?
ahem ::wanders off to Clean All Things!::
People, if it doesn't fit, has stains, or if you are not going to wear or fix it/them, get rid of it/them!
Actually, what I REALLY want is to organize a stitch'n'bitch -- I have a bunch of stuff that's easily mendable and partly done projects that would be time-consuming but ridiculously not difficult, but it's just so frickin' hard to get a chunk of uninterrupted time to plow through it all. I don't want to throw it out, I just want time!
I just want time!
Perhaps in the hazy shade of winter?
I need that apron.
JZ, I totally agree. I have a pile of hemming, resewing buttons, reattaching snaps etc that needs to be finished and no time.
If ever I could wish for a superpower, I'd wish for the ability to stop time for everyone but me. So, I could stop time and take a nap while everyone else was frozen. Or read a book. Or take an uninterrupted shower. Or move Antonin Scalia into scandalous situations where he would be forced off the Supreme Court. Or, you know, more time to finish ANYTHING.
