I was cranky. Then I went out. Now, I have cupcakes and the world is looking brighter. One is an orange creamsicle and the other is called a Fat Elvis - it's a banana cupcake with a peanut butter frosting, covered in chocolate ganache.

Calli, we're driving through the UP after a weekend with college friends in Bellaire. Counted the pasty shops between Mackinaw and Menominee.

Lean, hard body? I guess I'm straight, then.
The StuntHusband is going to be very astonished to find out he's straight, too. I'm going to make sure to be out of flailing range when I tell him.
I would imagine it's a shock to find out you're straight after all those years of gay sex.
ETA: and vice versa, naturally.

Along the Lake Michigan shore? That's a pretty drive.
My Most Awesome Intern is back from her summer internship with the Dept. of the Interior. Precioussssss.
I can feel my productivity increasing a hundredfold, through no effort of my own. It's intoxicating.
Route 2? Love Route 2.
I went to a wedding in the UP last August. Super hot, biting flies (the bride got eaten up), started late, no seats -- honestly the worst wedding ceremony ever. But the reception had a live band and open bar until 3 am, so it totally made up for it.
My mother lied to me a lot. I think I turned out okay.
Had a good time at Zaanse Schans yesterday and got to see a little of the countryside. Got back to the city in time to go view all of the Tall Ships that were visiting, but didn't stay for the big fireworks show. I could see it from my hotel room several miles away, though, so it must have been a huge production.
Today I toured the city on the Canal Bus system, went to the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh museum, and Vondelpark. Got rained on a little in the morning, but overall I've been very lucky with the weather for this trip.
Haven't posted any new pictures yet, but will eventually.
Amsterdam is a nice place to visit, and the public transportation is impressive. I'm certainly glad I don't have to drive here. Too many vehicles packed into too little room. Drivers seem very forebearing here, I've only heard one horn blast, and that was from a lady who had been blocked out of her driveway by a tour bus.
