Could just be a hoax, though. I fake some headaches, everyone gets used to poor helpless Spike. Then one day, no warning, I snap a spine, bend a head back, drain 'em dry. Brilliant.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

My parents hire guys to do their gardening once a week. It's 93F outside and they turned the sprinklers on. What a waste. I'm going to see if my parents are willing to see sense on that one. I'm totally happy to take on the "chore" of turning on the sprinklers once a week at dusk. In other water wasteage, many of the bathroom faucets here leak. Out of curiosity, I closed the tub drain after my shower yesterday to see how much this thing loses. I wish I'd been more scientific about it (noting times, etc.) but in less than 24 hrs, A little more than 10 gallons collected. I bailed it into some plastin bin and need to get it out to water the plants. I wish I knew how to fix the faucets, but in the meantime I want to siphon that water somewhere it won't be wasted.

I'm sorry to hear that about your mom, Sue. I hope you figure out a way to get her to acknowledge it and get help.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I'm going to kill everyone. Seriously. There doesn't seem to be anyone who isn't pissing me off.

It's really that day today. Either I need a time out or the world does. I don't really care which.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

The skinwich is a hoax Oh, thank god.

A blogger from the Chicago Tribune went ahead and made one anyway.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Faucet fixing is pretty easy and cheap, Spidra. I have done it for my mom. If you can't do it, probably one of your family members can. [link]

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Ugh. The students are back, and the radio station has set up a display in the middle of campus (right next to my office) and is blasting music. Good music, but still.

hip deep in pie

Thanks guys. My siblings were laughing off my mom's antics, but I am not around here so often, and I found the whole thing upsetting. Though, to be fair, it was mostly over the top worrying about our safety, which was always her norm. Now she's imagining actual imaginary bad people to worry about.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Today's highlight so far: Somebody called me back that I didn't expect to.
