I had a whole section about civic pride.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

She wasn't hurt, but I guess some other people were, and apparently there's like a rash of these things going on right now. [link]

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Ugh, that's awful.

I'm glad she wasn't hurt, at least.

Because books.

Man, I thought I wasn't going to have to hate people today. That's awful.

My August hasn't been bad, just incredibly busy. I'm looking forward to sleeping for about four days straight in September.

There's always someone to hate! At least I wait for them to give me a reason...

Also not hateful: I'm going to Vegas tomorrow! Not until after work, but still!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's a bug that's affecting data consistency in production. Why are you looking at me so blankly and asking me what to do about it? It's YOUR CODE. Fix it.

What is with people?

My health has just not been good this week, and other people and work schedule are conspiring to make it all worse.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Yikes, Jesse. That's horrible.

My first bf was from Cincinatti. We weren't together long enough for me to visit out to his ol' homestead but I heard from him about the bad side of the German roots there. Other Ohioans have reminded me of the geography out there by calling it "Cincitucky".

As for working, no. I became too disabled to hold a regular job in late 2007. So I have time. I have limited energy, though, due to constant pain. And my knee is messed up on top of the disability. But even more than that is just my worry of being alone on a bus at midnight in areas of town that are a little shady. I'm still considering it. I've got to wrestle with that problem SOMEtime if I'm going to be staying here. It's a sad fact that the lion's share of the cultural events in LA are on the West Side.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Spidra, if you don't mind me asking--what is your disability? Feel free to tell me to butt the hell out. Are you getting SS or CA Disbility at least? It ain't much, but it certainly helps.

I'm on SSDI. Bilateral thoracic outlet syndrome, which has cause bilateral cubital and carpal tunnel syndrome. Also some pretty serious depression.
